    Q:
How do you remove the front hub and bearing assembly on Cadillac DeVille and DTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the hub and bearing assembly, start by applying the parking brake and blocking the rear wheels. Remove the hubcap or wheel cover and loosen the driveaxle/hub nut. Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel and the brake caliper, and hang it out of the way with wire. Disconnect the ABS speed sensor electrical connector. Remove the driveaxle/hub nut by inserting a prybar through the caliper inspection window and into the cooling vanes of the brake disc to hold the hub stationary while removing the nut. Pull the brake disc off the hub. Attach a puller to the hub flange and tighten it just enough to push the driveaxle in a little, breaking loose the splines from the hub. Remove the hub retaining bolts, either through the opening in the hub flange or from the back side of the steering knuckle. Wiggle the hub and bearing assembly back and forth and pull it out of the steering knuckle, along with the brake disc shield if equipped. If the hub and bearing assembly are being replaced with a new one, it is recommended to replace the dust seal in the back of the steering knuckle. To replace the seal, disconnect the stabilizer bar and the balljoint from the control arm and pull the steering knuckle and strut assembly off the driveaxle stub shaft. Pry the seal out of the knuckle with a screwdriver.

    Q:
How do you remove the rear Wheel Bearing and Wheel Hub? Posted by Customer
    A:
To start removing the rear wheel first, slacken off the lug nuts, and make sure you block the front wheels to stop the vehicle from moving. After that lift up the back of your car properly and safely place it on jack stands under the frame. With the car being supported well, take away one of the rear wheels. Once this is done, detach the rear brake caliper, mounting bracket and brake disc. To avoid damaging a brake hose, please ensure you hang caliper using a wire. Then disconnect ABS connector if vehicle has it installed. Taking out hub and bearing assembly involves rotating hub so as to align one of its holes in flange with each bolt used for mounting it on axle; afterwards remove these bolts. Lastly get rid of hub and bearing assembly too. When installing just reverse removal procedures making certain that specification torque is adhered to when tightening bolts back into place. The brake fasteners must also be tightened according to torque specifications.

    A:
For installation, the steps of removal should be reversed, ensuring that the bolts are tightened to the specified torque. Additionally, the brake fasteners should be tightened to the torque specifications.
