    Q:
How to replace a Speedometer Head? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the negative battery cable and disable the airbag system. Remove the left trim plate, instrument cluster, and, if necessary, the tilt-wheel cover. Take off the speedometer lens and disconnect its cable. Remove the screws and the speedometer assembly. For installation, reverse these steps: reinstall the speedometer, connect the cable, secure the lens, and reattach the cluster. If removed, replace the tilt-wheel cover. Reconnect the battery, tightening the bolt to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm). Enable the airbag system and reset electronic devices like the radio and clock.

    Q:
How to remove and install a gauge cluster in a Buick Century and Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
You may want to place a rag over the steering column to help prevent scratches. Disconnect the speedometer cable and pull it through the firewall. Remove the left side hush panel retaining screws and nut. Remove the right side hush panel retaining screws and nut. Remove the shift indicator cable clip. Remove the steering column trim plate. Put the gear selector in L. Remove the retaining screws and gently pull out the instrument cluster trim plate. Disconnect the parking brake cable at the lever by pushing it forward and sliding it from its slot. Unbolt and lower the steering column. Remove the gauge cluster retaining screws. Pull the cluster out far enough to disconnect any wires. Remove the instrument cluster. Install the gauge cluster, connect the electrical connectors and install the retaining screws. Position the steering column and install the retaining bolts. Connect the parking brake cable at the lever. Put the gear selector in L. Install the instrument cluster trim plate. Install the steering column trim plate. Install the shift indicator cable clip. Install the right side hush panel retaining screws and nut. Install the left side hush panel retaining screws and nut. Pull the speedometer cable through the firewall and connect to the speedometer. Connect the negative battery cable.

How to Remove and Install an Instrument Cluster on Buick Century and Regal? Posted by Customer
    A:
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the headlight switch knob, escutcheon, and instrument trim plate. Take out the cluster lens and gauge, then remove the left-hand panel trim cover. Detach the cluster carrier and disconnect the speedometer cable. Remove the steering column trim, disconnect the shift indicator, and lower the steering column. Disconnect the speedometer cable and bulbs, then shift the gear selector to low gear. Extract the instrument cluster, unscrewing the Speed Sensor optic head. Disconnect the harness and ground strap, then remove the cluster assembly. Unscrew the trip set lever knob, remove the clear lens, black filler, and shift indicator components. Extract the circuit board assembly, noting gasket positions. Finally, hold the speedometer frame and remove screws to take out the mechanical speedometer. Installation is in reverse.
