If you want to eliminate the transmission then initial starting examine series for example oil seals and in the event that they are damaged then replace then. In the models with a manual transmission, change or check the clutch or, where necessary, its elements and the release bearings. However, when tilting down the rear of the driveline, enough space should be provided between the engine and the instrument panel, so as to support the engine to avoid damage. Manual transmission models imply the flywheel to be fixed back in its previous position without the locating pin; to facilitate this, manufacturers put alignment marks. To remove the flywheel/driveplate bolts you need to lock the flywheel/driveplate from rotating you can use any available transmission mounting bolt and screwdriver. All should be replaced once removed because of the severity of stresses that are required of bolts. Do not disassemble the driveplate assembly on automatic models; it is pre-balanced as a part of the whole assembly. To disassemble the system, it is necessary to take out the retainer and flywheel, and note its weight before that. Remove the flywheel for cleaning and look for signs of damage, and also to examine the seating surfaces with the crankshaft, replace any oil sealing that has developed leaks. Again with the flywheel off you should clean the inboard face and the crankshaft speed/position sensor. When installing the flywheel/driveplate, fit the flywheel/driveplate on the crankshaft with the marks made during flywheel/driveplate removal aligned and then tightened with new bolts tightened in a diagonal sequence to the torque specified in the Toyota service manual. The installation process is the reverse of the removal process that has been explained above.

Check components such as oil seals and replace them if necessary.
