    Q:
How to drain and replace automatic transaxle fluid and Transmission Filter? Posted by Customer
    A:
Drain and replace the automatic transaxle fluid at specified intervals. Prepare to use recommended transmission oil before starting work. A drain pan that can hold many quarts, several newspapers, clean rags, and jackstands necessary for lifting the car off the ground are among other tools for this task. The release of fluids should follow driving the vehicle immediately. Hot fluids are more efficient in removing deposits that have built up thus hot fluid is better than cold one. Drive it around to warm up the fluid then raise it off the ground with a jack on each corner for access to the transaxle drain plug. On some models, it may be necessary to remove bolts from these engine torque rod and suspension sway bar to access. Move this equipment under your vehicle carefully avoiding touching any of its hot exhaust components. Put this drain pan beneath this drain plug inside this transaxle pan. Remove this drain plug. Make sure that you position properly, as fluid will come out with some force also. Securely reinstall the drain plug when all fluid has been drained from it. Remove it by prying it away with a screwdriver after loosening all these transaxle pan bolts very carefully. Filtration retention bolts must be removed as well as filter which is then separated from its transaxle itself. Be cautious while lowering filter due to remaining liquid contained inside it any way; please be careful while lowering filter since there might still be some liquid in it! Then put new filter into place and install bolts in it tightly so that they stay on their positions securely enough not coming out at random even when you move through rough terrains or go off road sometimes too hard until finally you reach your destination safely without any previous warning about danger ahead Do not forget to wipe dried gasket material remnants off transmission oil pans sealing surfaces prior reassembling everything back together again Clean pan using a solvent before wiping it dry with compressed air; afterward, do not forget reinstalling magnets Place new gasket, put pan on the right place and fix bolts. Apply a thread sealant to the two bolts' cross-grooved heads just before threading them in. Then tighten down these bolts until reaching their specified torques either With engine off, pour fresh fluid down dipstick tube into transaxle. Avoid spills by using a funnel. The best way is to add little amounts of fluid at a time and frequently check its level with the dipstick. Then allow it few minutes for fluids to drain into this pan completely Turn on engine and shift from park position through downwards gears then go back park while applying emergency brakes while idling motor checks liquid levels (add oil till it reaches 'hot' line).
