To remove the condenser, start by discharging and recovering the refrigerant. Then, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and remove the front bumper cover. On four-cylinder models, remove the plastic shroud and air duct from the front of the AC condenser by removing the two push-pins. Remove the front air panel by taking out the two push-pins at the top front of the condenser. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser and cap all fittings to prevent dirt or moisture from entering. Finally, pull out the upper retainers and lift the condenser from the vehicle, being careful not to damage the fins on it or the radiator. For installation, follow the reverse steps of removal, tightening the line-fitting mounting bolts to the proper torque specifications. If a new condenser is being installed, add 1-1/6 ounces of refrigerant oil and assemble all connections with new O-rings, lightly lubricating them with refrigerant oil. Reconnect the battery and then have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested.
