What steps should be followed for replacing engine mounts for the 1998 GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, the negative battery cable should be disconnected from the battery. Then, the vehicle should be raised and supported on jackstands. An engine hoist should be attached to the top of the engine for lifting. The engine should be slightly raised, then the through-bolt nuts removed and the mount through-bolt withdrawn from the frame bracket. The engine should be raised further until the engine mount can be unbolted from the block. Installation is the reverse of removal, using Loctite on the mount bolts and tightening them securely.
