Check for any relative movement between the mount plates and the engine or frame using a large screwdriver or pry bar; if any play is detected, lower the engine and tighten the mount fasteners. To slow deterioration, apply rubber preservative to the mounts. For replacement, disconnect the negative battery cable, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jack stands if not already done. Raise the engine slightly with a jack or hoist, remove the mount-to-bracket fasteners, and detach the mount. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, using thread locking compound on the mount bolts and nuts, ensuring they are tightened securely.
