    Q:
How do you remove and install a battery in a Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
For reasonable prices, battery straps and handlers can be found in most auto parts stores that help to take out the battery. Get rid of the battery by opening the battery box cover and loosening the nut holding down the negative battery cable terminal to the battery. Disconnect and insulate the negative battery cable. Slide open mega-fuse cover towards rear of the vehicle until cable is free from positive battery terminal. With your hand reach underneath and locate a latch on its left, pull it up and also push towards right; this will enable you to remove two screws that are inside box but close toward each other so you have unlocked lid for mega-fuse compartment which accommodates all four fuses including one which supplies power to engine control unit (ECU). Open large fuse box where all fuses are located over top of radiator fan then remove any connectors attached onto top side before unscrewing four screws here allowing access into rear section containing both main power supply lines supplying electricity throughout entire automobile at once while other smaller ones distribute current among different systems individually as needed through their respective circuitry namely fuel pump relay board as well as air conditioning compressor clutch solenoid valve etcetera so if you ever need more info about how it works just let me know cause I'm not sure exactly what type used since there many available options depending upon specific model year vehicle made by various manufacturers around world today including some designs having even more complex electronic architectures than others such as these three examples discussed earlier involving different types thereof, e.g., single-sided boards which carry only one trace layer each consisting solely Copper tracks without any components mounted onto them (e.g., no resistors placed directly upon surface), or double-sided PCBs where two layers exist with traces running both top bottom sides respectively while certain components may be situated either above below those tracks themselves resulting combination known either between simple printed circuit boards (PCBs) versus more advanced ones incorporating elements besides either bare foils themselves like capacitors or resistors) yet without any integrated circuits present inside besides their own connectors leading four-directional data flow between individual elements connected within whole assembly itself so then you can easily visualize process going on behind scenes during real-world applications involving multiple connections made between different points associated with same net. The special design of the terminals makes it impossible to mix them up. Remove battery hold down by removing two bolts and nut. On the battery cover, use a screwdriver to release the tab and disconnect the connector. Pull up on the battery cover to remove it. Lift out the battery while carefully holding onto its handles-it's heavy. Make sure that you get a replacement that is identical (same dimensions, amperage rating, cold cranking rating, etc.) if you are replacing this battery. Take off heat shield from old battery and put on new one. When reinstalling reverse how you took out originally: First connect positive cable last negative cable After removing the battery, detach Powertrain Control Module (PCM) bracket from the battery tray. Battery tray fasteners have to be taken off. Remove tray by removing harness of batteries from it . Reattach wires back into their appropriate slots depending as marked earlier step while pushing inward slightly so they do not come loose while moving again; remember also not forgetting about any other cables plugged in at front too since there might still be some more equipment installed there such as onboard computer display screens which will need servicing soon enough if they become damaged beyond repair due either age wear tear or simply because someone forgot turning them off overnight before going home so don't forget checking everything twice before starting work just make certain nothing has been missed out entirely even after having completed job already beforehand; otherwise reassembly would end up being less successful compared what had initially planned ahead without considering all aspects involved whatsoever;.
