Elevate and secure the vehicle, remove the front wheel, rocker panel screws, splash shield, and upper antenna nut using the right tool. Remove the antenna. A:
To lower the antenna mast, turn off the radio or ignition key switch. If the mast is stuck in the 'up' position, it may be necessary to cut it off for easier replacement. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Access the power antenna motor through the inner fender panel, and if needed, raise the vehicle and remove the front tire for better access. Remove the fender skirt attaching screws and pull down on the rear edge of the skirt, using a 2x4-inch lumber as a spacer to keep it pulled away. Remove the escutcheon nut at the fender and disconnect the electrical leads. Remove the antenna and motor assembly through the fender skirt opening. When installing a new unit, ensure that the mast is fully retracted and secure the lower bracket attachment with the fender skirt attaching screw.
