To replace the front shock absorber one must lift the front end of the vehicle and jack it on proper jackstands. After that, use an open ended wrench to stop the upper end from rotating, get rid of the upper stem retaining nut, the retainer, and the rubber grommet. Following that, take out the two bolts which hold the lower end of the shock absorber on the control arm and pull the assembly further from the bottom. On installation screw the lower retainer and rubber grommet on the upper stem and put the shock absorber in a full drop position between the lower control arm and spring. Following the passage of the upper stem through the upper control arm frame bracket there are the upper rubber grommet, retainer and attaching nut. Grasp the upper stem with an open ended wrench while the other hand turns the retaining nut until it is very tight. Last is fixing the lower retaining bolts in position and tighten according to the recommended torque and lowering the vehicle. For the rear shock absorber, have the rear end of the vehicle elevated on a jack stand, positioning it at the frame of the car and the rear axle by placing a floor jack. Take out the lower mounting bolt right then take out the upper mounting bolts and pull the shock absorber away. When fitting, it is permissible to leave some gap in upper attaching bolts, put the eye into the lower bracket, fit and tighten lower bolt with nut towards the rear to the specified torque. Loose the top threads of the bolts to the required size and then lower the vehicle to the ground.
