To remove the front wheel, start by loosening the lug nuts and raising the vehicle onto jackstands. Once secure, remove the wheel. Next, remove the shock absorber and the stabilizer bar link bolt. Disconnect the outer tie-rod end from the steering knuckle. Install a suitable internal type spring compressor and compress the spring enough to relieve all pressure from the spring seats. Support the lower control arm with a floor jack and remove the control arm pivot bolts and nuts. Pull the lower control arm down and to the rear, guiding the compressed coil spring out carefully. If the coil spring is being replaced, unscrew the spring compressor. To install, inspect the upper and lower spring insulators and replace if necessary. Inspect the coil spring for any chips in the corrosion protection coating and replace if damaged. If replacing the coil spring, compress it using a spring compressor. With the lower spring insulator in place, position the spring on the lower control arm with the flat end facing up and the tapered end facing down. Ensure the tapered end seats on the lower control arm and the lower end of the spring is seated in the lowest part of the spring seat. Place the top spring insulator. Use a floor jack to raise the lower control arm into position in the frame and install the control arm pivot bolts and nuts. Remove the spring compressor and reattach the outer tie-rod end to the steering knuckle. Reattach the stabilizer bar link to the lower control arm and install the shock absorber. Position the floor jack under the lower control arm balljoint and raise the arm to simulate normal ride height. Tighten the lower control arm pivot bolt nuts to the specified torque. Finally, install the wheel, remove the jackstands, and lower the vehicle, tightening the wheel lug nuts to the proper torque.
