Place the pan on a block of wood and if the flange of the oil pan is distorted particularly around the bolt holes hammer the pan flange in order to accomplish the gasket surface of the pan. If the oil pickup tube was disconnected then it was refitted with appropriate new seal. Before putting the oil pan, then put thin layer of the RTV sealant on the flange then place the new gasket to the pan such that the bolt holes match. Put the oil pan into position where it requires to be fitted on the engine block, and fasten the mounting bolts/nuts, in a diagonal manner, till you get to the right torque. Wait at least for 30 minutes before adding the oil to the engine and then turn on the engine, check Whether the pan is leaking.
