Separate the battery's negative cable. The blower motor on this model is found above and to the right of the throttle pedal in Sprint, while it is at passenger side of the dash behind glove box in Metro. Disconnect wiring from the motor and detach rubber air duct that connects it with blower housing. Pull hose and electrical connector off of motor, remove three screws and then remove blower motor from beneath dash board. Remove screws holding blower motor to vehicle and lower unit from dash board. Unfasten three mounting screws, lift out this engine with your hands. When replacing a motor, remove its fan which is mounted on a shaft with a nut and attach it to another one. It should be noted that installation is just vice versa process of removal. Start up blower motor and check whether it works properly or not. In case of Metro model, two nails have to be removed from glove box striker as well as striker itself should be detached outboard hinge leaves; rear upper glove box panel must also be taken away now so back can be opened further; take off rear upper glove compartment panel; unplug wire regular air hose between fan housing disconnect fresh/recirculated control cable from case assembly; let three case mounting screw down before lowering afterwards' disassembly takes place; remove three mounting screws by simply lifting whole thing up.
