Many electrical accessories in the vehicle employ relays to send messages to Electrical control units, and when the relay is spoiled no message will be sent to the respective unit. Such relays are installed in different parts of the car. If there is an indication that the relay is bad, the relay may be pulled out and tested either at a dealer's shop or another reputable shop; in case of defective relays, you are forced to replace them in their entirety.

Some are equipped with an air bag or Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system and live air bag or SIR system parts require special precautions when servicing the system as it may disarm. The turn signal flasher is usually a small canister or a box-shaped unit generally positioned in or around the fuse block and with later models the turn signal and hazard only flasher are usually combined into a single unit. In its normal condition, a clicking sound can be heard during its operation; If the turn signals fail on one side along with the flasher does not click then there is, probably, a defective turn signal bulb present.
