Apply the parking brake, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands. Use masking tape to protect the paint on adjacent panels while removing either front or rear bumper covers. For the front bumper cover, remove the fasteners at the front edge and the splash shield from under the vehicle, including the lower splash shield fasteners. On 2016 and later models, also remove the bumper cover-to-body extension fasteners and the extension. With the lower splash shield removed, take out the bumper cover stiffener bolts if equipped, and remove the inner fender splash shield on each side. Next, remove the bumper cover-to-fender bolts, disconnect the fog lamp electrical connectors if equipped, and take out the fasteners along the top of the bumper cover. Using a trim tool, unhook the snaps around the perimeter and carefully pull the bumper cover forward and off. Installation is the reverse of removal. For the aero shutter air deflector, first remove the front bumper cover, then take out the aero shutter air deflector fasteners and shutter. On 2015 and earlier models, slide the deflector assembly from the bumper cover; on 2016 and later models, the shutter assembly is mounted to the bumper support brace instead. Depress the tabs around the grille opening with a flat-bladed tool, then remove the grille from the aero shutter, with installation being the reverse of removal. For the rear bumper cover, open the trunk lid or liftgate, disconnect the electrical connectors from the taillights, side marker lights, and license plate light, then remove the taillights. Remove the fasteners from the rear fender well splash shields and pull the shield back. Take out the bumper cover-to-body fastener from each side, and from below, remove the fasteners securing the cover along the bottom edge. Pull outward on each side of the bumper cover while using a trim tool to disengage the retainer tabs around the perimeter, then remove the bumper cover, taking care to disengage all tabs to avoid damage. Installation is the reverse of removal.
