The first step toward the removal of clutch master cylinder is to pull of the negative cable on the battery. In the compartment of the engine, it is advised to use a syringe in order to take some of the fluid from the reservoir. Then remove the hydraulic line connected to the clutch master cylinder, using a flare-nut wrench if available then the fitting won't round off looking for rags in-case of fluid spillage ensure the contact with paint is avoided. Take off the other bolt at the master cylinder side where it is bolted to the firewall and the pushrod on the upper part at the clutch pedal under the dashboard is removed using a clevis pin. From under the dashboard, unbolt the master and separate it from the firewall using a wrench, it is advisable not to spill the fluid. For fitting, place the master cylinder on the firewall and tighten the mounting nuts only by hand. Obtain the hydraulic hose and connect it to master cylinder making sure the thread of the fitting is in the right direction that it does not cause the formation of cross thread. Tighten the mounting nuts tightly and also the hydraulic line fitting attached at the pushrod before connecting the pushrod to the clutch pedal. Top up the clutch master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid and then bleed the clutch system, After this, inspect and set the clutch pedal height and freeplay to the right spec if necessary.
