To do this the Clutch Slave Cylinder can be un bolted from the transaxle. To inspect the bearing, use a clean rag to remove any dirt and look at for signs of damage, wear and cracks, do not immerse it in solvent as it is designed to be sealed for life. Grasp the central part of the bearing and turn the outer part pressing on it; if it rotates with a squeak, a rumble or a groan, it should be changed. The Clutch Slave Cylinder is best replaced whenever the clutch components have been changed as this can be rather challenging. Rotate the bearing to as to make it slightly stiff; if it has no stiffness at all, then it must be replaced. For installation, apply high temperature grease on the inside diameter of the Clutch Slave Cylinder bearing and then fit the Clutch Slave Cylinder to the transaxle and tight the bolts. Apply a thin coat of high temperature grease on the face of the release bearing Then it follows the reversed process of the removal.
