First, remove the negative terminal cable of the battery. In Samurai strip off the steering wheel together with the columns, then dismantle the Torx drive bolts that hold the column and drop the column. Thereafter, nuts and bolts holding the instrument cluster cover should be removed alongside the cover; the speedometer cable should also be detached from the rear of the cluster.
