To remove the antenna mast, the procedure involves removing the screw holding the mast down to the base after which steps are taken to paint the surrounding areas while the mast is taken out; to reinstall the mast the process is done in reverse. It would be more advisable to start with the removal of the antenna mast and the cowl cover together with the detachment of the base of the mounting mechanism of the antenna. Then remove the trunk lid inner garnish molding and disconnect the antenna mast cable from the extension cable. To get to the wire there will be need to extract the old pieces of the antenna mast cable through the grommet situated under the antenna mounting base. Then you should connect the new antenna mast cable to the wire and you should pull the cable back through the grommet. The process of installation is otherwise exactly the opposite to the removal process. As for the antenna extension cable, it connects the antenna mounting base cable to the radio and passes through the instrument panel which must be unbolted for the replacement.

The front cable is routed up behind the right kick panel, turns left across the glove box area, and connects to the backside of the radio.

1. Remove the rear package tray. 2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the antenna coil. 3. Remove the coil mounting fastener and take out the coil. 4. Reinstall in reverse order.

First, remove the upper mounting nut. Then, turn the ignition key to the ON position and activate the radio, having an assistant guide the mast as it deploys. Once fully extended, pull it out of the base and remember to turn off the radio and ignition.
