The caliper mounting bracket should be unbolted for removal.

Loosen the lug nuts, remove wheels and lift the front end of the car onto jackstands in order to examine brake system. Put wheel back on and tighten the lugnuts to secure disk. When installing place disk over threaded studs and install caliper and pad assembly that way; tighten bolts in calipers; mount wheels; lower vehicle; Tighten lugs; depress brake pedal until pad comes into contact with disk; check how brakes work before one enters a traffic moving situation when drive being done.
