Before co Removing the power steering pump, firstly, it is necessary to disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. After that, it is necessary to turn the engine cover, air filter housing and inlet air resonator. Take a large syringe or suction gun to empty as much possible power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir and when removing the steering hoses, drops will fall so keep an empty drain pan nearby. In the case of models where the power steering's fluid reservoir is located apart from the operational unit, the fluid reservoir has to be detached. Next, it is necessary to take off the drivebelt and to unscrew the electrical connector from the pump of the power steering. Disconnect the pressure and the supply hoses from the pump; the author notes that on some models, those, in fact, all lines cannot be disconnected until the pulley is removed. For 3.2L engines, turn with the pump pulley and unbolt the front mounting bolts passing through the holes of the pulley. In all the other models, there is a power steering pump pulley removal tool that is to be fitted then the pulley is pressed off the pump. After dismantling the pulley, unscrew the pump mounting bolts and pull the power steering pump out with the help of steering wheel, also cut the connection between the pump and the pipe. Last but not the least fix and pull out the power steering pump through the removal of mounting bolts that are screwed on the power steering pump from the engine. For fitting, process must be done in reverse order to the disassembly with proper engagement of pulley to the pump and tightening the mounting bolts to the recommended torque setting and then fill the power steering reservoir with the correct type of fluid recommended and then exercising the power steering system to bleed off the power steering hydraulic system.
