    Q:
What are the steps involved in the removal and reinstallation process of the intake manifold in inline engine on Chevrolet Colorado? Posted by Customer
    A:
To begin the removal process, disconnect the cables from the negative and positive terminals of the battery, then take out the battery and battery box. Next, detach the air intake hose from the air cleaner resonator box located over the valve cover, and pry up the resonator box from the clips on the right side of the valve cover until its pins are free. After that, remove the throttle body and disconnect the electrical harnesses from their brackets along with the MAP sensor connector. Proceed to take off the MAP sensor bracket and disconnect the crankcase vent hose from its ports on the manifold and valve cover. Remove the engine harness bracket, ensuring to support the vehicle on jackstands to access the lower engine harness, which requires removing the left front wheel and inner fender liner. Next, take out the alternator and disconnect the vacuum hose from the power brake booster; for 2007 and later models, also remove the oil dipstick and dipstick tube. Loosen the left front wheel lug nuts, raise the front of the vehicle securely on jackstands, and remove the left front wheel along with the plastic inner fender liner. Working through the fenderwell opening, remove the lower wiring harness bracket, followed by the intake manifold bolts, and then take out the manifold. Clean and inspect the intake manifold for any damage, cracks, or warping after removing the old gasket. For installation, place a new gasket in the intake manifold without the need for sealant, and then follow the reverse order of removal for reassembly, tightening the intake manifold bolts gradually from the middle bolts out to the ends.

    Q:
How to remove and install the intake manifold in six cylinder engine on Chevrolet Trailblazer? Posted by Customer
    A:
First of all, the cable needs to be disconnected from the negative terminal of the battery. Subsequently, allow the removal of the throttle body and then eliminate the PCM from the car. Remove the electrical harnesses from their brackets and the MAP sensor connector and if it is installed, remove the front differential vent hose from the clip. I also removed the crankcase vent hose from its fitting on the manifold hookup as well. Move on in the removal of the engine harness bracket and the alternator. Remove the vacuum hose from the power brake booster then the bolts of the intake manifold and take the manifold. After having pulled off the gasket it is necessary to clean and inspect the intake manifold for the presence of scratches or cracks, or if it is warped. To replace the gasket put new one without any sealant and reverse the process of removal while tightening the bolts of intake manifold in a gradual manner to the recommended torque.

    Q:
How do I remove the intake manifold on 4.3L V6 engine on GMC Sierra? Posted by Customer
    A:
To start with, disconnect the cable from the battery's negative terminal prior to eliminating the intake manifold. Also, drain coolant and remove ignition coil as well as EVAP canister tube. In addition, sever heater hoses; throttle body wiring, and numerous electrical connectors. Moreover, get rid of PCV valve hose; power brake booster hose, and radiator hose. Furthermore, drop water pump intake hose together with drivebelt. And then, release power steering pump bracket nut and bolts. Finally, shift power steering pump bracket forward in order to reach the bolt at front of intake manifold. Therefore, remove intake lower manifold mounting bolts and pry up manifold to break gasket seal. Eventually loosen all connections attaching the intake manifold while ensuring nothing is still attached. For installation purposes: clean mating surfaces and tap thread in bolt holes; apply RTV sealant on front and rear manifolds' mating surfaces plus a thin ring around new intake manifold gaskets' cylinder head side coolant passage holes; place gaskets accordingly while sealant is still wet then set the manifold in position; install bolts eventually following recommended sequence; finally perform remaining tasks in reversed manner fill cooling system again and check for leaks at joints between intake manifolds.
