    Q:
How do you remove the Ignition Coil on Buick Skylark,Oldsmobile Omega and Pontiac Phoenix? Posted by Customer
    A:
On L4 engines. remove the distributor cap. On L4 engines, label the spark plug wires as to their position on the cap and remove them. On V6 engines, remove the spark plug wire retaining ring from the top of the distributor. Remove the coil cover from the distributor cap. Note the position of each wire, duly marking them if necessary. Remove the coil ground wires then push the leads from the underside of the connectors. Remove the coil from the distributor cap. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, but ensure that the leads are connected to their original positions. Damage to the control module and ignition coil can result if the leads are connected incorrectly.

    Q:
How do you test the Coil-In-Cap for the 1983 Buick Century? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by removing the distributor cap and disconnecting the coil. Use an ohmmeter to check the resistance across the primary connections, ensuring it is close to zero. Then, test the resistance between the primary ground and the coil secondary connector, using both solid wire and dotted line connections. If the readings are infinite, the coil needs to be replaced.
