Place the spider on the shaft, screw several snap rings in the groove, grease the tri-pot and the housing. Place the tri-pot into the housing and place grease around it as well as ensure the boot is in the right position. Ensures the pressure in the boot is made equal and ensure that the boot is well positioned. Place the new boot clamps in the right fashion, and use the correct clamping tool to fix them. For the outer CV joint you will need to cut and remove the boot clamps, then push the boot back and twist the joint off of the CV boot shaft using a soft-faced hammer. As with the wheels, they are cleaned, checked for signs of wear and if severely worn then the entire CV boot needs to be replaced. For the outer CV joint, slide a new sealing boot and clamp on the axleshaft, and then pack the outer CV joint with grease, locate the splines of the joint into the corresponding slots from the axleshaft before driving the joint onto the axleshaft. Situate the boot ends and stabilize the pressure distribution and then tighten the clamps in the described method above. Finally, install the CV boot.
