    How to Remove and Install a Control Head? Posted by Customer

    Disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the hush panel, instrument panel trim plate, and A/C switch attaching screws, then pull the A/C switch out. Unplug the electrical and vacuum connectors at the back of the A/C switch and disconnect the temperature control cable. Position the A/C switch near the mounting location, engage the electrical and vacuum connectors and cables to the back of the A/C switch, connect the temperature control cable, install the A/C switch and attaching screws, instrument panel trim plate, and hush panel, then connect the negative battery cable and tighten the cable bolt to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm). Finally, reset the radio, clock and any other applicable electronic devices.

    Start by removing the right front inner fender panel. Disconnect the wiring at the lower assembly and remove the 5 nuts and 2 screws securing the inlet assembly to the dash panel. Pull the entire assembly straight off the studs and remove it from the inner fender panel. The blower motor can be separated from the inlet assembly by removing the attaching screws.
