    Q:
How to remove and install the oil pump on 2.2L four cylinder engine on Chevrolet Blazer,S10,GMC Jimmy and Sonoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
The oil pan is taken off first before removing and installing the oil pump. Take out the oil pump mounting bolt from the main bearing cap after that. The block should be separated from the oil pump and pick-up assembly. If there is a problem with the latter, replace it with a new one. When doing a complete engine overhaul, it is advisable to use a new oil pump rather than reusing the old one or rebuilding it. The oil pickup tube of an oil pump should be checked for any looseness if it's pressed into the body of the oil pump. It's dangerous to attempt tightening a loose one; instead, replace the entire pump assembly. Put the oil pump in place by turning its shaft to align tang of gear with slot on lower end of oil pump drive shaft. The retainer on lower side of the oil pump drive shaft will enable easy movement of the entire thing over to its position. If not, remove it twisting tang until properly aligned with driveshaft slot in pump. Tighten up this mount using its bolt you earlier detached. Put back your vehicle's engine and start placing some engine before checking if there are any leaks.

    Q:
How do you remove the oil pan and oil pump for Chevrolet C1500 and K1500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Take out the oil pan. Remove the pump-to-rear main bearing cap bolt while supporting the oil pump. There is a single bolt that holds the oil pump to the rear main cap. Take out the bolt, then take out the oil pump. Drop it down and remove with the pump driveshaft. For almost all models, an oil pump driveshaft aligns with an oil pump shaft using a rigidly-hard nylon sleeve. Put this sleeve on the oil pump driveshaft. If it is not there, look for its pieces in the oil pan, take them out from there and get a new one for use on an oil-pump driveshaft. Examine whether or not damage or looseness exist in both the screen and pickup tube too much of which can make them fit tightly at all to the oil-pump itself . In case you have a new one, please ensure that this item has been connected to a relevant place within an engine . Place it over an engine and ensure that upper slot of drive shaft fits into lower tang of distributor shaft . The distributor drives the oil pump; therefore, good mating is important between these components. Fasten a mounting bolt and tighten it until it reaches required torque. Lastly mount your pan back onto your engine.

    Q:
How to remove the oil pan and oil pump on 4.3L V6 engine on Chevrolet Blazer,S10,GMC Jimmy and Sonoma? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the oil pan. While supporting the oil pump, remove the pump-to-rear main bearing cap bolt. On some models, the oil pan baffle must be removed first, since it's also held in place by the pump mounting bolt. Lower the pump and remove it along with the pump driveshaft. If a new oil pump is installed, make sure the pump driveshaft is mated with the shaft inside the pump. Position the pump on the engine and make sure the slot in the upper end of the driveshaft is aligned with the tang on the lower end of the distributor shaft. The distributor drives the oil pump, so it is absolutely essential that the components mate properly. Install the mounting bolt and tighten it. Install the oil pan and refill with fresh oil. The remainder of assembly is the reverse of the disassembly procedures.

    Q:
How to remove and install an oil pump on 4.3L V6 engine for Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the oil pan. While supporting the oil pump, remove the pump-to-rear main bearing cap bolt. Lower the pump and remove it along with the pump driveshaft. If a new oil pump is installed, make sure the pump driveshaft is mated with the shaft inside the pump and a new driveshaft retainer is used. Position the pump over the dowel pins on the rear main cap and make sure the slot in the upper end of the driveshaft is aligned with the tang on the lower end of the oil pump driveshaft. The oil pump driveshaft drives the oil pump, so it is absolutely essential that the components mate properly. Also, note that no gasket is used between the oil pump and the rear main cap. Install the mounting bolt and tighten it to the torque specifications. Install the oil pan and refill the engine with fresh oil. The remainder of assembly is the reverse of the disassembly procedures.
