    Q:
How do you remove the rear Wheel Hub on Chevrolet Impala and Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the rear wheel, start by loosening the lug nuts and blocking the front wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Then, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the rear wheels. Next, remove the brake caliper, caliper mounting bracket, and brake disc from the hub. If the vehicle is equipped with ABS, disconnect the wire harness for the wheel speed sensor. Detach the parking brake cable from the actuator and the bracket attached to the rear backing plate. Remove the hub mounting bolts and detach the hub assembly and parking brake assembly from the knuckle. Finally, remove the parking brake shoe and related components, followed by the hub and bearing. To install, reverse the removal steps, making sure to install the hub and bearing in the correct direction for the ABS wheel speed sensor electrical connector if applicable. Tighten the new hub and bearing mounting bolts to the proper torque specifications and adjust the parking brake. Finally, install the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the correct torque specifications.
