Saturn LS1 Trailing Arm

In Saturn LS1 cars, the Trailing Arm helps support the trailing-link suspension system through its linkage of the axle to the car's chassis in a bid to reduce any undesired mobility of the axle and thereby refining the vehicle's steadiness and maneuverability. Saturn LS1 Trailing Arms can be of the trailing-arm suspension type which includes live axle or independent suspension system that is used to locate the wheels laterally and move over the road surface irregularities. Furthermore, some of the Saturn LS1 models may also include a Semi-Trailing Arm Suspension, which is considered to be more flexible and complex as compared to any solid rear axle; each of its wheel hub can be positioned on a large triangulated arm that is pivoted at two other points. These designs usually are applied to rear wheels and contribute to the lower floor and thus more space for cargo in small compact front-wheel drive vehicles.

Each OEM Saturn LS1 Trailing Arm we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn LS1 Trailing Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove and install the rear control arm and trailing arm?
A: Loosen the lug nuts at the rear wheels and raise the back of the vehicle on jackstands, chock the front wheels. After that, remove the rear wheels, upper control arm-to-trailing arm mounting bolt and nut. Then remove fuel tank heat shield and fuel tank itself, follow with pivot bolt from inner end of arm. Inspect for deterioration control arm pivot bushing and replace it if necessary. For reinstalling fasteners in reverse order next to torque specifications are applied. In case of lower lateral control arm remove lower control arm-to-trailing arm mounting bolt and nut alongside with fuel tank heat shield and fuel tank. Following this take out pivot bolt from inner end of arm (note that rear stabilizer bar bushings may have to be removed for access). It is necessary to check on wear of control arm pivot bushing so as replace it wherever necessary. Replace the control arm in opposite sequence of removal procedure torquing specified fasteners properly. So as moving away trailing arms start by removing brake shoe or disc brake assembly, ABS wheel speed sensor and associated brackets first one thing to do is to remove a brake hose, brake line brackets parking-brake-cable and unbolt cable brackets as well as park them aside Remove hub & bearing assembly while holding out the brake backing plate then Slip a shock absorber/coil spring -to-trailing-arm mounting bolt together with a rear stabilizer bar link-to-trailing-arm bolt Unbolt the hub containing trailing arms using jacks; thereafter undo bolts securing upper & lower lateral controls arms Mark relationship between trailing arm mount bracket relative to car chassis before doing away with bracket bolts down towards fall No need to repeat checking for wear-edge since Pivot Bushings have been checked already When installing make match marks on mounting bracket that correspond those on unit chassis then secure it there by tightening the bolts Once you have done all these things we would then go ahead by tightening up all other fasteners to the prescribed torque values and then examine as well as adjust for any possible rear wheel alignment errors.
