Saturn LS1 Steering Knuckle

Steering Steering Knuckle is used for suspension and steering mechanism of the vehicle, and particularly it links the front wheels and the body of the vehicle to be specific, the Saturn LS1 cars. It has flanges to mount the control arms, tie-rod ends, and the spindle or hub; it is designed to move vertically according to road surface irregularities and horizontally due to turning of wheels. Steering knuckles are available in different arrangements which are grouped mainly by the type of vehicle they suit, RWD or FWD/AWD/4WD vehicles. This design may include the spindle in RWD knuckles, while designs in FWD/AWD/4WD incorporate a hub that bolts into the drive axle. The change in the steering knuckle is from kingpins to the more conventional ball joints used in most cars since the 1960s. Inspection and maintenance of the knuckle as well as other components that are connected to the knuckle are very crucial in maintaining the safety and performance of vehicles.

Each OEM Saturn LS1 Steering Knuckle we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn LS1 Steering Knuckle Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install a front steering knuckle and hub assembly on Saturn LS1?
A: To start with, loosen the driveaxle/hub nut and wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle and support it on jackstands. Then remove the brake caliper and support it with a piece of wire, remove the caliper mounting bracket and brake disc. If equipped with ABS, remove the wheel speed sensor. Afterward, mark the strut to the steering knuckle; then loosen but not remove the strut-to-steering knuckle bolts. Thereafter separate the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle arm under which is positioned a balljoint-to-steering knuckle pinch bolt that you should remove so as to separate the balljoint. The next step is removing the driveaxle/hub nut and push out driveaxle from hub supporting it with wire. At this point remove strut-to-knuckle bolts by carefully separating steering knuckle from strut or you can say vice versa I guess it's all up to you.
