- Q: How to remove and install a power steering pump on Saturn LS1?A: Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. In order to remove as much fluid as possible from the power steering fluid reservoir, you may use a large syringe or suction gun. When the hoses are disconnected, place a drain pan beneath the vehicle to catch any spilling fluids.
