Saturn LS Brake Calipers

Brake Calipers is also another vital system found in Saturn LS vehicle, it is responsible for clamping the brake pads to the brake rotors thereby creating friction, which in turn helps in coming to a stand still. These calipers come in two main types: paid up and provisional. The fixed calipers are kept still and have two opposing pistons that clamp from either side and provide a better performance but they have a lower tolerance to disc irregularities. The second type, the floating caliper, slides perpendicular to the disc's rotation axis; when the piston pushes the inner brake pad, the caliper, which moves to the opposite side of the disc, exerts force on both sides of the disc. However, there are the following disadvantages; The floating calipers are liable to stick due to several reasons reducing the fuel rate, heating of the disc and uneven wear of the pad. Several types of brake calipers are also found in bicycle rim brakes.

Each OEM Saturn LS Brake Calipers we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn LS Brake Calipers Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do I remove and install the front and rear brake calipers on Saturn LS and LS1?
A: To remove the front wheels, start by loosening the lug nuts but not removing them. Then, raise the front of the vehicle and secure it on jack stands, and remove the front wheels. Next, disconnect the Brake Line from the caliper and plug it in to prevent contaminants from entering the brake system and minimize brake fluid loss and remove the caliper guide pins and detach the caliper from its mounting bracket. To install the caliper, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the caliper guide pins and the brake line banjo fitting bolt. Bleed the brake system and install the wheels and lug nuts. Lower the vehicle and tighten the lug nuts to the proper torque. For the rear wheels, follow a similar process as the front wheels.
