  • Q: How to remove the blower motor and blower motor resistor on Saturn LS?
    A: To remove the blower motor resistor, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the instrument panel and the right side heater outlet duct. Disconnect the recirculation door actuator connector and, if applicable, the air aspirator hose for vehicles with automatic climate control. Next, remove the mounting screws for the blower motor resistor and take it out from the evaporator housing. Finally, disconnect the blower resistor card from the blower connector. For installation, simply reverse the removal steps and reconnect the battery. To remove the blower motor, first close the recirculation door by turning the ignition key on (engine not running), selecting the RECIRC to the OFF setting, and turning the ignition key off. Then, remove the wiper arms, cowl cover, weatherstrip from the trim along the engine compartment edge, interior ventilation filter, windshield wiper module, filter housing, and blower motor housing. Release the locking tabs and lift the blower motor housing, disconnect the blower motor connector, and remove the blower motor from the heater/air conditioning housing. For installation, reverse the removal steps and ensure that the rib on the blower motor housing slides into the slot in the heater/air conditioning housing. Finally, reconnect the battery.
