Saturn Ion Ignition Coil

The function of the Ignition Coil on Saturn Ion is to step up the electrical current from vehicles 12-volt battery to high voltage (15, 000 to 40, 000 volts) required to fire the air/fuel mixtures in the engine cylinder. They complete the connection between the primary and secondary circuits of the ignition system; these are coils of insulated copper wire wound around an iron core for purposes of producing the necessary voltage. This page documents the use of various Saturn Ion Ignition Coil Types throughout the years; Traditional Distributor Systems, distributor-less ignition system (DIS), coil-on-plug (COP), and coil-near-plug (CNP). The difference between the various types of systems is mainly in their design and how they are run; for example, while the DIS system uses 2 coils to service two cylinders, the COP system uses one coil per spark plug, making it more effective and eliminating the need for high voltage leads. This is due to misfire and low performance of the engine and a higher fuel consumption when the ignition coil is not in good condition.

Each OEM Saturn Ion Ignition Coil we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.
