Saturn Ion Brake Pad

The Brake Pad are critical parts in SATURN ION cars meant to bring the car to a standstill by rubbing on the brake rotors. These are made from a friction material fastened to a backing plate made from metal, they gradually wear out and require replacement from time to time. Some Ion models have the particular wear sensors to notify the driver when the pads are nearly worn out, which in turn have the particular wear indicators which make the proper level of noise in the event they require replacement. Furthermore hardware parts like clips, springs, and shims that are used in the brake pads must be well maintained so that they can exert proper force, remain silent and wear at a standard rate. New hardware together with the brake pads can be mounted thus making the optimal out of the braking system and allow the drivers to get the optimal of it.

Each OEM Saturn Ion Brake Pad we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Saturn Ion Brake Pad Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do I remove Brake Pad?
A: To remove all components except for Brembo brakes, start by removing the cap from the brake fluid reservoir. Then, loosen the wheel lug nuts and raise the vehicle, supporting it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheels and inspect the Brake Disc. Use a C-clamp to push the piston back into its bore, making sure the fluid in the master cylinder doesn't overflow. Rotate the caliper away from the disc and remove the outer brake pad, followed by the inner pad. Inspect and replace the support plates if necessary, and lubricate the contact areas on the mounting bracket. For installation, apply anti-squeal compound to the new brake pads and rotate the piston on rear calipers. Install the inner pad with the brake wear sensor positioned correctly, then install the new outer pad. Clean and lubricate the caliper guide pins before installing them, and tighten the guide pin bolts to the specified torque. After completing the job, depress the brake pedal to bring the pads into contact with the disc and check the brake fluid level and operation of the brakes before normal use. For removal with Brembo brake pads, follow the same initial steps of removing the cap, loosening lug nuts, raising the vehicle, and removing the wheels. Inspect the brake disc and then use a punch and hammer to remove the lower caliper guide pin and pad retainer. Remove the upper caliper guide pin and push the caliper pistons back into their bores. Finally, remove the pads from the caliper. To install the new pads, clean the caliper assembly and then reverse the removal steps. After completing the installation, depress the brake pedal to bring the new pads into contact with the disc, check the brake fluid level, and carefully test the brake operation before normal use.
