With the parking brake set in a prepared vehicle with an automatic transmission put the shifter in park, then follow the subsequent steps: raise the front part of the vehicle and support it on the stands, and then remove the right front wheel and fender inner splash shield. Loosen the right side control arm from the steering knuckle. If necessary, to prosecute the lifting of the engine in a proper and safe manner, place the floor jack with the assistance of a wood block to avoid scratching the oil pan of the car. If required, unbolt and take out the two right side frame attaching bolts, but if possible, merely loosen the bolts and nuts of the left side frame member. Reduce the engine slightly if necessary.
