Pontiac Grand Prix Blower Motor

Blower Motor in Pontiac Grand Prix is among the critical assemblies of the car that specifically regulate the air conditioning system of a car by controlling the speed of the blower motor that is used to manage the flow of air into the passenger's compartment. The blower motor controls make it possible for the drivers to control the flow of the air through the system depending on the temperature inside the car; hence, making it easy to change to a more suitable climate inside the car. Usually interfaced with a blower motor control module through wire connection, these controls contribute to a comfortable drive. However, the problem can be associated with the electronic module, or with the wiring of this module and, as a rule, this leads to malfunction, and the further control of the heating and air conditioning system is lost. Therefore, it highly advisable and essential also to diagnose the blower motor controls and fix any issue arising with respect to it in Pontiac Grand Prix car's HVAC system promptly.

Pontiac Grand Prix Blower Motor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you disconnect the blower motor for Pontiac Grand Prix?
A: To disconnect the blower motor, start by disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal. Make sure to turn off the lockout feature on models with the Theftlock audio system. Then, remove the panel below the glove compartment in the passenger compartment. Pull down the carpet if needed to access the blower motor. Disconnect the wires from the blower motor by detaching the electrical connector and removing the mounting screws. Next, remove the convenience center rear screws and loosen the front screw to slide out the convenience center (only for 1996 and earlier models). Remove the blower motor mounting bolts and separate the motor/fan assembly from the housing. If there is a retaining nut, remove it and slide the blower fan off the motor shaft. If the fan is pressed onto the shaft, it can be removed by cutting through the plastic shaft sleeve or by pressing it off. Finally, to reinstall, follow the reverse of the removal procedure.
