A: To remove the drive axle/hub, start by loosening the drive axle/hub nut and the wheel lug nuts. Then lift up the front of the vehicle and securely support it on jackstands. Take off the wheel and go on to take away brake caliper, caliper mounting bracket and brake disc from hub. Mark strut to steering knuckle and loosen strut-to-steering knuckle bolts. Next, disconnect ball joint from steering knuckle by removing ball joint-to-steering knuckle pinch bolt. Remove drive axle/hub nut and push drive axle out of hub while supporting end with a piece of wire. Finally, remove strut-to-knuckle bolts and carefully separate steering knuckle from strut. Guide knuckle into position while inserting drive axle into hub to install drive axle/hub. Push knuckle into strut flange; install bolts/nuts aligning steering knuckle with marks on strut flange. Tighten nuts to correct torque specifications for each retaining member fastener size Connect ball joint to knucle; tighten pinch bolt/nut. Attach tie rod to steering knuckle; tighten tie rod nut Place brake disc on hub: install caliper mounting bracket, then caliper Install drive axle/hub nut; tighten it securely Install wheel and lug nuts; lower vehicle, then torque lug nuts & drive axles/ hub nut properly Finally have front end alignment checked/adjusted if necessary.
