How to remove and install the headlight switch on Pontiac Firebird?

Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the instrument cluster panel, ensuring to disable the anti-theft feature on models with a Delco Loe II audio system before disconnecting the battery. Pull the headlight switch knob to the full On position, then reach behind the switch with one hand to push the release button while pulling the switch knob out of the dash with the other hand. Remove the screws retaining the knob panel and take off the panel. While holding the switch in position with one hand, use the index finger of the other hand to unscrew the retainer from the front and remove it. Take the switch out of the dash, noting the angle for easier installation later. Disconnect the wire connector, and then follow the reverse procedure for installation.
