Pontiac Fiero Thermostat Housing

Thermostat Housing is another module that plays an important role in any automobile's over-heating problem; it is situated in Pontiac Fiero automobiles to safeguard the thermostat apart from controlling the vehicle's temperature by containing the thermostat and regulating coolant. This component shields the thermostat from factors such as heat to give the optimal performance in avoiding overheating of the engine. Different styles of the thermostat housing have been used in Fiero cars, both the metal and the high-grade plastic-style ones. Metallic casings are more robust and cut a fine figure in this aspect but they are more vulnerable to rusting when compared to plastic ones which on the other hand are less hardy but they have a high resistance to rusting. Also, premium engine coolant water outlet necks and fillers are offered in steel and aluminum ready to meet Original Equipment standards. These components are available in various types including straight, swivel and angled necks in order to offer optimal of routing solutions for the radiator hoses so as to improve the heat exchange of the vehicle.

Each OEM Pontiac Fiero Thermostat Housing we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Pontiac Fiero Thermostat Housing Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to remove and install the thermostat housing and Thermostat on Pontiac Fiero?
A: The thermostat housing is on the upper end of both the 2.5L four-cylinder and 2.8L V6 engines. To remove, twist the thermostat housing cap clockwise, then pull out the thermostat. Clean the housing and lubricate the O-ring with white grease. If replacing the housing or gasket, disconnect the radiator hose (expect some coolant spillage). Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor wire. If replacing the housing, remove the sensor with caution. Remove old gasket residue from the cylinder head. Check the housing for external damage or internal corrosion. Apply RTV sealant to the new gasket and position it. Install the housing, tightening bolts securely. Wrap the sensor threads with Teflon tape, reattach it, and reconnect its wire. Refill with coolant, install the thermostat and its cap. Start the engine and check for leaks.
