Oldsmobile Omega Spark Plug Wires

Thus, the Spark Plug Wires in automobiles is a crucial element in the Oldsmobile Omega cars' ignition systems that enables the change in electrical energy to be provided to the spark plugs. Again, these may be called high tension leads or HT leads specifically designed to be long-lasting and arc-resistant, often, made of silicone or EPDM rubber. They are accurately installed into a specific length and they comprise metallic ends for the making of durable joints. Modern Spark Plug Wires come with features to eliminate RF interference, high-quality ones contain the use of brass terminals to discourage the formation of corrosion. In older engines the power is provided by a coil wire, while in most of the modern engine, coil pack or individual ignition coils are installed directly inside the Spark Plug which in turn eliminates the Spark Plug Wires. Like any other engine related wires, these wires must be well-maintained and placed as needed to ensure the optimal output and durability.

Each OEM Oldsmobile Omega Spark Plug Wires we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Oldsmobile Omega Spark Plug Wires Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to check spark plug wires?
A: Make sure to check the Spark Plug wires either at the specified intervals or when new spark plugs are being installed. One wire at a time, disconnect it from the spark plug either by twisting and pulling on its rubber boot or using a removal tool. It is not advisable to pull out the whole wire. See if there is any white crusty powder inside the boot. Also, make sure that both of them are tight enough against the spark plug. In case they do not fit properly, use pliers to crimp the metal connector inside the boot. At this point, clean all dirt and grease from throughout the length of the wire with a piece of cloth before looking for burns, cracks or other forms of damage. This test is necessary to check if the wire inside is still conductive. The wires should be checked in exactly the same manner as spark plugs at distributor level. Put each wire securely back in place both at distributor and spark plug ends. In order to visually check whether there is any arcing or sparks indicating a break or fault, one can start his/her car engine in a very dark garage having ventilation facilities around him/her. When replacing them, get a new set that corresponds to your particular engine model and change wires one by one so as to maintain sequential firing order.
