Oldsmobile Omega Radiator fan

The Radiator Fan in Oldsmobile Omega vehicles is very crucial in managing the temperature of the engine through the circulation of air on the radiator. In normal driving conditions when the car is at standstill or low speed the fan comes in to help in forced air flow to cool the coolant before it is circulated back to the engine. Oldsmobile Omega has both the mechanical and the electric Radiator Fans in its production models. These are usually mounted on the water pump shaft and connected through a system of a thermal clutch which engages and disengage the fans at certain speeds thus cutting on fuel consumption and noise. However, electric fans use a 12V motor to run and switch on depending on coolant temperature or air conditioning on the vehicle and this are usually mounted in a shroud to enhance air flow through the radiator. This two pronged system provides cooling in all the driving conditions prevalent in Oldsmobile Omega cars.
