Oldsmobile Omega Ball Joint

The Ball Joint of Oldsmobile Omega cars is a part of the suspension and steering system that binds the control arms with the steering knuckles. While these ball joints enable rotation in two planes while preventing the spherical movement of the axle, ant this in turn helps to improve vehicle handling, stability and ride comfort. They are made from steel and the most general type is the ball-and-socket fashioned bearing stud that is equipped with a protective rubber boot to minimize the intrusion of dirt and afford freedom of movement to the lubricant. The Oldsmobile Omega vehicles may use the additional types of the ball joints such as the upper and the lower ball joints for the used suspension systems. These ball joints have a tendency to wear out due to wear and tear or lack of lubrication or failure of the boot and the symptoms include noise, peculiar pattern of tire wear, misalignment or steering difficulty. Various worn-out parts of a vehicle require replacement often and systematically and one such part is the ball joint of tires.

Each OEM Oldsmobile Omega Ball Joint we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

Oldsmobile Omega Ball Joint Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you replace a ball joint on a Buick Skylark,Oldsmobile Omega and Pontiac Phoenix?
A: To start with, lift up the front of the car and prop it on jackstands. After that, remove the wheel. Then remove the bolt holding the ball joint to the brake caliper bracket. Use a t-in drill bit to drill about ¾-in deep into the center of the rivets holding down the ball joint on the lower control arm. Drill just deep enough with a ½-in drill bit to remove rivet heads. Drive out any remaining rivets and take away the ball joint. When installing back a new balljoint in place of rivets on lower control arm, use correct size bolts and nuts on them instead. Mounting back of balljoint onto Steering Knuckle must be done with tightening bolt and nut by proper torque specs in order to prevent loss of control while driving. Finally mount-wheel and lower-car to ground.
