GMC Yukon Vapor Canister
Vapor Canister in GMC Yukon cars is an important part of the evaporative emissions control system or the often abbreviated EVAP, the primary goal of which is to prevent emissions of toxic Hydrocarbon or HC emissions into the atmosphere. This is commonly called the charcoal canister and it is filled with activated charcoal characterized by small pore that take in fuel vapors and holds them in storage until the engine requires them. This one is linked with the fuel tank and carburetor for the fuel vapors to meet air and if the valve of purge is open, the same moves into the engine. In the modern OBD II vehicles, extra circuits of the canister vent solenoid and fuel tank pressure sensor are incorporated into the circuitry for diagnosing any probable leakage of the system. Thus, the Vapor Canister can be considered as the key component that helps to minimize pollution and maintain optimal engine conditions in GMC Yukon automobiles.

Q: How do you remove Canister Purge Valves and Vapor Canister on Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL?
A: To remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid on a V6 model, start by removing the air intake duct and disconnecting the electrical connector and EVAP purge line quick-connect fitting from the solenoid. Then, remove the mounting nut and the solenoid itself. For a V8 model, follow the same steps but also cap both EVAP purge lines before disconnecting the inlet purge line quick-connect fitting. To remove the EVAP canister vent solenoid, disconnect the electrical connector and quick-connect fittings from the solenoid and remove it from its mounting bracket. To remove the EVAP canister, label and disconnect all EVAP hoses connected to it, remove the mounting nut, and remove the canister from its bracket. Finally, to remove the fuel tank pressure sensor, remove the fuel tank and the sensor from the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit mounting flange. Installation for all components is the reverse of removal.
