Q: How to replace the air filter element in a Chevrolet Avalanche,Silverado,Suburban,Tahoe,GMC Sierra,Yukon,Yukon Denali and Yukon XL?
A: After installation, a new air filter element should be changed at regular intervals. On all models, this is located in the black plastic box on the right side under the hood. However, if you drive in dusty conditions, it may need to be replaced earlier than normal mileage. After loosening the captive screws and pulling the housing cover up, lift out the air filter element. Then you can take a clean rag and wipe out the inside of the air filter housing. The new filter element should be placed in the air filter housing. It should be ensured that it is properly fitted into groove on the housing. Put them back in place as you had done during removal. To reset the indicator top portion of it should be pushed in.
