How do you remove the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor on Chevrolet Equinox,GMC Terrain and Pontiac Torrent?

To remove the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor, start by removing the engine cover. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ECT sensor, which is located at the front of the engine on the side of the engine block for 3.0L and 3.6L V6 models, and below the exhaust manifold towards the end of the engine for 2.4L four-cylinder models. Also, apply some sealant to the threads and reinstall the engine cover.
