A: To remove the air conditioning system, start by having it discharged by a dealership service department or an automotive air conditioning facility. Disconnect the cable at the negative terminal of the battery and drain the cooling system. Remove the heater hoses and air conditioning lines from the fittings at the firewall, plugging the lines to prevent coolant spillage. Remove the instrument panel assembly and pull back the carpeting to remove the rear floor duct. Remove the instrument panel carrier and the nuts securing the HVAC module to the firewall. Withdraw the unit and remove the screw and clamp securing the heater core pipes. Carefully pull out the heater core. For installation, reverse the removal steps and ensure any original insulating/sealing materials are in place around the heater core pipes and core. Refill the cooling system and have the air conditioning system charged by the shop that discharged it. Start the engine and check for proper operation.
