To replace the latch, first raise the window completely and remove the door trim panel along with the rear section of the watershield. Detach the latch rods from the lock cylinder, outside handle, and inside handle, working through the opening in the door. Remove the three Torx-head mounting screws, which may require an impact-type driver to loosen, and then take the latch out of the door. If possible, disconnect the rods while the latch is still in place; otherwise, pull the latch out with the rods attached, then disconnect the rods and electrical connectors. For installation, reverse the removal procedure and ensure the door latches and unlatches properly. To remove the lock cylinder, first take off the outside door handle and disconnect the link. The lock cylinder is secured with either two bolts or a retainer; if it has a retainer, use a screwdriver to push it off. After removing the lock from the door handle, installation follows the reverse of removal.
