GMC Acadia Vacuum Pump

The Vacuum Pump in GMC Acadia cars is involved in running vacuum-driven applications including the power brake Booster and HVAC actuators. It may be of reciprocating diaphragm or rotary vane type and is usually driven by the engine's camshaft or alternator shaft. Whereas in gasoline engine manifold vacuum is created by throttle restriction, in diesel engine there is no throttle valve and no vacuum. The vacuum pump produces partial vacuum necessary in the management of exhaust systems, HVAC, management and power brakes. Some of the problems relate to noise while the bike is running, leakage and unequal pressure that may cause a hard brake pedal and climate control symptoms. The vehicle's performance is therefore greatly determined by correct diagnosis as well as replacement after occurrence of damages on the engine.

Each OEM GMC Acadia Vacuum Pump we offer is competitively priced and comes with the assurance of the manufacturer's warranty for the part. Furthermore, we guarantee the speedy delivery of your orders right to your doorstep. Our hassle-free return policy is also in place for your peace of mind.

GMC Acadia Vacuum Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove the vacuum pump on GMC Acadia?
A: To remove the vacuum pump, start by turning the ignition switch to OFF and pumping the brake pedal several times to deplete any remaining vacuum. Then, remove the engine cover to access the vacuum pump located at the left front corner of the engine compartment. Disconnect the vacuum hose by releasing the quick connect filling and position the power brake booster vacuum hose to the side. Disconnect the electrical connector and, if necessary, release the wiring from the bracket. Remove the nuts and pull the pump from the engine compartment, or remove the bolts from the pump bracket if needed. Retain the rubber mounting bushings and their sleeves. To install the vacuum pump, reverse the removal steps. If the replacement pump does not include rubber mounting bushings, transfer them from the old pump. Ensure the fasteners are tightened securely and check for proper operation of the brake booster system.
