Q: What should be inspected periodically for damage, loose components, and cracked or worn blade elements?
A: Check the wiper assembly regularly for any damaged, loose or brittle blade elements. As a result, road film may accumulate on the wipers and reduce their efficiency thus needing to be cleaned with soapy water on a regular basis. Cracked, worn out or curved blade elements should be replaced by new ones if they can no longer clean well. Starting at the end of the arm where it is hooked, lift the arm assembly away from the glass for clearance before sliding out the wiper blade assembly after depressing the release lever. Depress the release tab to disengage the blade holder from this arm and draw the wiper blade towards windscreen direction to separate it from arm. The new blades attaches to the same. There will be an audible click when they are properly connected.
