A: To remove the air conditioning system, start by recovering the refrigerant and disconnecting the negative battery terminal. Then, remove the front bumper cover, support, and hood latch, followed by the front bumper impact absorber. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser, making sure to cap all fittings to prevent dirt or moisture entry. If it's a 2013 or later model, detach the air conditioning refrigerant heat exchanger from the condenser. Pinch the fastening tabs at the top of the condenser to disconnect it from the Radiator. Carefully lift the condenser to release the lower retaining tabs and separate it from the radiator, being cautious not to damage the fins. For installation, connect the air conditioning refrigerant heat exchanger to the condenser using new O-rings, and then reverse the removal steps. Tighten the line-fitting mounting bolts to the specified torque and add fresh refrigerant oil if a new condenser is being installed. Finally, have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested.
